The Final Message Pt. 3

The third theme that stands out to me is this:  Proclaim the gospel of God. "And he said to me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near." (v.10)  And then also in verses 16-17, "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches.  I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright and morning star.  The Spirit and the Bride say, 'Come.'  And let the one who hears say, 'Come.' And 'let the one who desires take the water of life without price.'"

Truth matters to God therefore truth should matter to us.  If people are to get the truth we must proclaim it, far and wide, day by day, today, tomorrow and on until Jesus Comes.  Few sins could be greater than that we would keep God's truth to ourselves.  The angel says, "do not seal this book (Revelation, but by application all of Scripture).  Why?  Because time is running out!  Daniel was told to hold his revelation "until the time of the end (Daniel 12:4,9) but that time has come and so the Word is not being sealed but sent. Eternity is at stake and it is drawing near, it is just around the corner.  We must not silence the Word of God by laziness, disobedience, indifference or bad theology (preach the Word and if necessary use words). Words must always be spoken when we are proclaiming the gospel otherwise it is silent.

Remember the progression of the message.  God has a message, he gave the message to his Son, The Son gave the message to his angel and the angel gave the message to John and John has given the message to the churches, which is us.   What is the message?  "The Spirit and the Bride say, 'Come.'  And let the one who hears say, 'Come.' And 'let the one who desires take the water of life without price.'"  The message is the eternal gospel.  We must share the life giving Word.
